New media allows people to access an untapped side of their own creative. People nowadays have access to so much information and a variety of new media where they are able to gain new ideas and think up new innovations.
An example comes from an article written by Sahsa-Frere Jones where a man named Jeremy Brown, aka DJ Reset, took apart a song using new media technology. Using digital software, he took apart a song from 1999 and found that the song had the same key to a more recent song by Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams. The songs are not close in style, lyrics, meaning, etc, but they had the same key which meant that. DJ Reset was able to make a mash-up between the two. A mash-up is when you take two songs and combine them to make it seem like one, seamless song. Such a task can only be created through new media and the creativity that it brings.
